They might think this CPU is suitable for the GPU. Some may claim it’s outdated, yet performance improvements from just upgrading the CPU would be minimal while keeping the 1650. It’s best to stay with what you have.

It seems you're navigating a complex situation with your hardware and market conditions. You're considering whether upgrading would make a meaningful impact, especially given the current competitive landscape between Intel and AMD. It's understandable to feel uncertain about the direction of prices and technology trends. Your concern shows you're thinking strategically about your investment.

I can't put it in words like this. My current setup works well, but upgrading might not improve performance much. The global situation and what’s happening around me make me worried the cost could rise. I think upgrading now would give me a safer position for 4 to 5 years.

The situation involves a clear upgrade route in gaming that follows Monitor → GPU → CPU/RAM. If your setup works well together, improvements to later components won’t show up unless higher-end parts are added. For instance, swapping a 1080p 60Hz monitor for an RTX 3090 won’t help much compared to moving to a higher resolution or faster refresh rate screen—unless you also upgrade the GPU and CPU. Similarly, if your GPU is still a GTX 1650, boosting the CPU to 12600k won’t increase frame rates because the GPU can’t draw frames any faster. Ideally, you’d prioritize upgrading the monitor first, then the GPU, followed by the CPU, which most people do all at once. If you’re okay with current performance, wait until you notice issues before making changes.
