I understand, I’ll try to be as clear as I can. My i5 11400 runs smoothly in games like Last of Us or Battlefield 4, reaching temperatures around 77°C to 80°C during gameplay and up to 88°C in Last of Us. I’ve had issues with cooling, but I keep it as cool as possible using the fans. I checked the thermal paste and noticed some areas are still wet, while others seem dry. (It’s the original paste from the stock cooler.) My question is whether this alternative paste would work better. The MX-4 costs about 480 LE, while this one is around 300 LE—so it’s more affordable. I’m curious if it would be a good upgrade, especially since thermal grizzly isn’t available locally and the more expensive options are over 700 LE.
It's okay at 88 degrees under full load, but removing the cooler means you need to replace the paste. Using a good-quality paste from a trusted brand is recommended.
If your system isn't cooling properly, standard thermal paste won't fix the issue. Consider removing the side panel to check for temperature changes. You can also replace the stock cooler with a model like the Hyper 212 Evo.
I put the fan back in until I can get a new paste next week. I filled up the last of us and my temperature is now around 75-80 degrees. I think it's still the same, just a little better after swapping one front fan for another and adding a new exhaust fan with higher RPM. I’m not sure if it can be fixed in a week before replacement. Also, why would I need to replace it if I use the cooler? Can you explain more?
It's a pretty big investment—like 2000LE. Something I can't afford in months, at least. I've tried to get a new exhaust fan with higher RPMs, putting one on top of the case to help cool the CPU and also the exhaust. But I'm not sure which one to choose. My case is a Gigabyte C200.
It's okay if you're relying solely on the stock cooler; miracles won't happen.
Well yeah that is gonna be one hot box of a case. Any thermal paste will be better than nothing and what about arctic silver 5 if costs are reasonable too? The CM paste in your OP should work ok too as it'll be better than stock at least.
I purchased the MX-4 and was advised it's an excellent thermal paste because I couldn't locate Mastergel Pro v2 nearby and my order was often canceled without reason online. I submitted an application but didn<|pad|>'s notice didn't show much improvement—though the temperature drops were noticeable initially. After some time, things returned to normal. I removed my fan to check if insufficient paste was applied, but it looked perfectly installed on both the CPU and cooler. I'm wondering if I should replace it once I take off the cooler, even though I applied fresh paste around 30 minutes ago?
