I received my vive about a month ago and I really enjoy it. Many VR users face frequent issues with furniture and walls during sessions. I’m especially worried about even a small controller movement hitting the wall. How much force is needed to damage it? And if I hit it hard enough, will tracking performance drop or stop completely?
Multiple elements will influence the outcome if the sensor is damaged or broken.
It's tough to break them unless you throw them like Hercules. I've probably dropped them like hot potatoes while playing a horror game. I suggest using the wrist straps.
I was playing Arizona Sunshine and quickly grabbed some ammo from the cabinet. When I thought about using a real weapon, I realized it wouldn't be as intense. A situation like that would probably be fine for me.
I first found them really funny after the Wii, but I’ve been playing them a lot now. I always make sure to put them on before playtime.

I dropped my phone during a rough CS:GO session, thankfully it had a screen protector but a bit of the front came off. That cost me around 80 euros for a replacement screen a few weeks back
