What are they planning with that poor port? A PS4 title that barely hits 1080p60 on an RX 580? It’s even worse than struggling at 1080p30 on a GTX 1060. How can Sony think it’ll inspire PC players to switch to a PS5 for the sequel? It’s surprising it worked so poorly on the original PS4 Slim, which had a much weaker GPU. A GTX 1060 is at least three times more powerful than the base PS4, yet it should have handled this game smoothly.
They might be suggesting the GTX 1060 because it works better with lower resolutions, but it still has issues at 1080p30. The official picks are the GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580 8GB, yet neither performs well in that setting. The 6GB model is especially problematic.
They often release updates when issues are resolved, so I'll keep an eye on it.
I avoid purchasing new PC games right away. I plan to wait about six months, hoping improvements and discounts will make them more affordable.
It's frustrating trying to achieve 1080p30 on a GTX 1060. This port seems to depend heavily on certain PS4 hardware configurations.
The pre-release feedback is unclear, particularly regarding Digital Foundry’s comments. It seems the reviewer was testing with an 8x slot instead of a 16x, which likely affected the results. The overall impression isn’t great, though I haven’t encountered major problems yet. After about an hour, I’m only seeing around 45-50 frames per second, but I’m using high settings for clouds, shadows, and reflections to balance quality and performance. I can easily hit over 60 fps if I lower the resolution or settings, which suits my preference for better visuals. Negative reviews don’t stand out much to me. It’s worth noting most of these reviews come from users with Nvidia cards and at least some with six-core CPUs. This game seems to need more cores, and since it was originally made for AMD, I’d like to see if the performance issues are tied to Nvidia or AMD differences.
lowest resolution at 1440p still struggles with consistent 60fps; i was surprised it wouldn’t work smoothly, ended up crashing twice. At 1080p it occasionally stutters but maintains 80–90 frames per second. This is the worst performance I’ve seen recently.
The review highlights a significant issue, but results can differ based on the game. It appears to focus closely on Rice's situation.
Using the Nvidia cards brings up new concerns. It seems there might be something unique to Nvidia related to these problems. This doesn’t mean the issue isn’t present with the port, just that it could be easier to grasp now given the history with AMD graphics.
