The 16:9 ratio isn't matching my screen, and I don't want to alter the monitor. I've relied on it for years with my older laptop that had a VGA connection without any problems.

I saved the file, but the monitor informs me it can't make much of a change because certain functions aren't supported by non-intel adapters. It looks like the HDMI connection is from the NVIDIA graphics card. In the Intel Command Center for that display, I can adjust fewer settings compared to what I can do in Windows Display Settings, so I'm unsure about the best troubleshooting steps.

What if the port in the adapter doesn't accommodate that aspect ratio? Also, you only need to adjust from 16:10 to 16:9. That would mean switching to a resolution of 768 by 1366, or if that fails... try 720 by 1280. Personally, I wouldn’t invest more than $10 USD in such an adapter. You likely picked the cheapest option on Amazon, like me. However, the production costs increase with more aspect ratios and resolutions they support. The maker probably chose to save money by not offering less common ones.

I attempted to check if a solution would work, but the VGA signal remains blocked when the left side of the image aligns with your monitor's edge.

This happens without needing to press f11. The image needs to physically touch the left edge of the screen. Please share your PC details—operating system and Windows version, monitor specifications, Optifine settings, and any color effects on the resolution.

The only specific condition affecting the window's appearance is present. The VGA cable might be struggling with the data rate. Your monitor operates at a certain frequency—let me know the exact number.

On my left screen I configured OBS to mirror the left display, which Windows interprets correctly. When the monitor goes dark, the HDMI output also shuts down, and the audio feed through the adapter stops working too. This suggests the issue is likely with the adapter itself, not the software or settings. Two different adapters from separate brands both exhibit this behavior for identical video content. The problem appears consistent across various scenarios, including when I view it in a zoomed screenshot within Windows Photos.
