I have an ASRock Z87 Extreme 6 motherboard. The back side has one sideways port that connects to HDMI IN. My stepson gave it to me after he upgraded his system with a NAS. He ran Windows 7 without issues, then moved to Windows 8.1 and quickly switched to Windows 10. After that, I used the setup with my Windows 7 drive, but it worked fine until about a year later. At that time, I noticed the port looked like a pin was stuck inside. After removing the shield, the pin was fixed, but no input recognized HDMI IN. I tried using the software they provided to switch an HDMI OUT to HDMI IN.

I’m currently using Windows 7 Home with 20GB RAM, a first-generation Titan X, and a Crucial MX200 SSD. My drives are all mine. Before I attempt to reset my kids’ stream deck to my PC, I’ll ask if it’s allowed—I might get a yes. Can I change an HDMI OUT to HDMI IN?

Would adding punctuation affect you? No. What are you aiming for? According to the manual, this feature doesn’t support video capture—it functions as a simple video switcher trick.

Assuming the HDMI IN port is disconnected, the HDMI OUT remains active on the board plus one on the Titan X. This setup might be tricky, but it's doable—some sources suggest it’s possible to create a loop or redirect signal.
