It seems we're entering a new era where younger generations are unfamiliar with the noises of traditional storage devices. That hum is completely typical for an HDD, by the way. Don’t wonder why Windows always uses c:\ instead of a more modern path.

It seems like a standard hard drive. The noise you hear when it resets is normal and expected. Based on your video, the sound matches what I’d expect from a typical HDD. You might lower the noise by placing the drive flat on its underside instead of its side.

I believe the issue comes from the mounting and case rattling. I've never used NAS drives before and was taken aback by the noise versus desktop models. Flattening them reduced the sound but didn’t eliminate the scraping noise. Probably best to relocate it.

The brief clip mentioned three clicks, and if this happens consistently, it raises concerns, as I expressed in my earlier message. If it occurs only when active, it seems typical, which I also noted in my initial reply.
