I think most folks would go for an R5 3600 with a B450 chipset. If you can afford more, a 5600X is better—but it might be tough to find one that fits the MSRP. A midrange CPU that works well with a 1080 5600X could help you stay ahead a bit. Updated December 24, 2020 by GoodEnough
