Hi, I recently purchased an RTX 3060 with MSI Ventus 3x. After installing it on my PC, I encountered a black screen. Previously, my Zotac GTX 1060 6GB mini worked perfectly. I've tried uninstalling the NVIDIA drivers, disabling the built-in graphics driver (my Intel i5-11400 is running fine), and using Windows Basic Display. I also installed drivers directly from the NVIDIA site and updated my BIOS. My system runs Windows 11, with two SATA SSDs (1TB for games, 128GB boot drive), 16GB DDR4 RAM (Kingston 2133), and a Corsair 650W PSU with bronze rating. I'm looking for any clues about the issue. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

The card's fans seem to be non-functional. It appears to be either faulty or contains a mining BIOS.

The card fans are rotating once they’re plugged in. It isn’t brand new; it came from a friend who bought it for mining, but he mentioned he never really used it for that purpose. If the issue is related to the mining function, it might be fixable.

You'd need the appropriate VBIOS for the card, based on your description. A likely match is the MSI RTX 3060 12 GB BIOS from TechPowerUp. You can update it using NVFlash, a tool provided by NVIDIA. Since your PC has an integrated GPU, simply boot it off and flash the right VBIOS to the card—this should resolve the issue. More guidance is available on TechPowerUp Forums.

I reached out to my friend who confirmed the bios haven’t been altered. I’m considering trying again, but if the problem persists, would you think it’s a defect? Appreciate your assistance!

I returned to my friend who sent me another card of the same model, but it wasn't recognized by my PC. Anyone have any suggestions? My 1060 is still functioning correctly.

It's quite unusual. Thanks for being there and helping me stay focused. I think they're aiming for a display size beyond your screen, but HDMI might fix that unless it's a very basic setup. When you launch the built-in graphics, does the system even detect the 3060?
