The graphics card is powered on but isn't showing any video output.
Hello, as mentioned in the title, I woke up today and was surprised to find my GTX 1080TI FTW3 DT not showing any video. A bit of context: this was my first build from 2018, so I don’t have any warranty coverage. This problem has occurred before—I restarted my computer and connected the DP to a different port, which resolved it previously. This time, I wasn’t so lucky. I’ve tried various solutions like moving the card to another slot, but nothing worked. The card is powered on, the fans and LEDs are visible, yet no video appears, and it doesn’t show up in Device Manager. Some posts with the same issue suggest the card might be dead. I’d like to give it a chance—anyone have ideas? PD: Sorry for the unclear English.
It's like it was around 7 or 8 years old now. It had a great life, man!
It's not ideal unless you're willing to spend $1599 for the 4090. The top picks are a 6950xt for $599 or a 7900xt for around $750. You might also consider a used 3080 for about $399 to delay purchasing until the next generation in 2024.
I believe I should opt for the second option, look for a used model and observe the upcoming generation (especially with NVIDIA's recent developments and AI emphasis—though I'm uncertain about that aspect). Appreciate the assistance!
