I've recently enhanced my PC with a custom water cooling setup, including a vertically positioned riser cable. After the upgrade, the clock speed stays capped at 210Mhz whether it's idle or under load. I've attempted to install and launch DDU twice. The PSU was upgraded to an 850W unit, and I checked the GPU power cable, but none of these changes resolved the issue. Anyone have alternative ideas before you disassemble the loop to see if the riser cable is the culprit? Specs: Asus Strix B550F Gaming AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Nvidia Rtx 3080ti Founders edition Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair RM850 80+ Gold EK Waterblocks, Pump+Resevoir Combo.

The waterblock may not be securely attached to the graphics card. I experienced this before, temperatures remained normal despite the issue.

Start by verifying temperatures. Use GPUz to determine GPU temperature and hotspot temperature.

No, you wouldn't need to take it out for testing.

210MHz is the idle frequency of the card, but it tends to drop closer to 2GHz when under load. What kind of workload are you applying? There are benchmarks so minimal that even 30-series cards often stay active without entering idle mode (like Minecraft). You might try setting the power plan in the Nvidia driver to "Prefer maximum performance." That could help. Still, on 20-series cards there was a known issue where excessive pressure would force the frequency down to very low values. It’s possible this persists on 30-series models, which could explain why clocks cap at 210MHz.

Conditions are stable, temperature remains steady at 27°C, and processing stays near 50% even without adjustments to the processor speed.

The device didn’t hit close to 2GHz during testing. Benchmarks using 3DMark showed frame rates staying under 20 on graphics tests. Changing settings didn’t improve performance. The issue likely came from excessive mounting pressure.

It might be the riser cable; try connecting the GPU straight to the motherboard and see if it works.

It seems the current consumption is minimal around 50 watts, which might indicate an issue with the power supply or PCIe connector.
