Hey everyone, I woke up this morning and my PC crashed right away. After a restart, I kept seeing endless black screens that wouldn’t let me boot into Windows until I managed to enter safe mode. There I deleted the GPU driver software and tried again, but it still didn’t work. Now I’m back to normal use, but only the 1280 x 720 resolution shows without issues. The computer has crashed a few more times now and can’t even start automatic repair. I’m on Windows 10 64-bit with an AMD RX480 GPU. Any advice?

Windows is requiring a driver update that seems faulty. Download the newest AMD driver from their site and maintain its updates. When Windows automatically applies the changes, you'll realize your system uses outdated drivers. Generally, refreshing them every 1-2 months is necessary.

Obtain the newest driver for your card. If absent, attempt to utilize an alternative card.

Consider another card option. Testing various driver versions might be better before replacing hardware. The newest Nvidia drivers worked well for me recently, but Destiny 2 kept crashing with them. I had to reinstall the older version since the latest ones seemed too unstable on my setup.

You're unable to start Windows and can't install updates because the newest drivers are no longer available. This issue started when you first noticed it.

Chose to reach out to Microsoft assistance, and right away it functioned smoothly – normal. Appreciate the support from all of you!

GPU issues when starting up often indicate a faulty GPU. The best solution, if feasible, is to return the device for repair. Check the remaining system status—power supply unit, manufacturer, model number. If uncertain, create an account and share details here.

Not because you're reaching out to Microsoft support. They wouldn't assist you otherwise, just by telling you to install the latest version of Windows and do a fresh setup. It's nice to know their developers are more capable than phone advisors, and Windows really works well on its own. Sometimes it takes longer—especially since Windows 10 tends to hide progress during that process—and a few restarts can make a difference. I get it, but I don’t have much patience these days.
