I have a GTX 1060 that was performing well, but after overclocking I suspect I made a mistake. Everything seems reset to defaults yet it keeps overclocking. The clock boost reaches 1835 MHz but tops out at 2012 MHz. I'm using MSI Afterburner, but also tried EVGA Precision XOC without running them simultaneously. Before using MSI Afterburner I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. I've removed both drivers and still have issues. I've also tried uninstalling everything and it doesn't stop. The benchmark scores dropped significantly compared to last month, and FPS stability fell from 99.5 to 82.3 during a stress test. What should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Nvidia's Pascal line, which includes the 1060, are built with GPU Boost 3.0 which will raise clocks automatically until it reaches thermal and/or power limits. It is a normal function of the card and nothing to worry about.
Most 1060s max out at around 1950-2020.

The advertised clock boost for my GTX 1080 FTW2 is only 1860, yet my card reaches 2000 like it doesn't matter, so I shouldn't be too concerned there. Re-run the tests and verify your temperatures, especially the maximum GPU temperature. If it stays below 80°C or even in the low 80s, everything looks good.

OK, thanks, that makes me feel a little bit better, it's just the thing that I'm worried about is artifacts, but my games and system aren't crashing, so I guess that's a good thing
