The GPU upgrade is leading to various issues that might actually be linked to the CPU.
I own two computers right now: one built with a 11700K and a custom 850W PSU, and another Dell Precision T3610 equipped with a 675W PSU. The latter was intended as a backup, but the 11700K is still working fine while only partially assembled. I’m relying on the Dell for now and will connect to it when needed. The original Dell model had a Xeon E5-1620v2 and 16GB RAM, which has been upgraded to a Xeon E5-2667v2 with 8x16GB RAM. When I swapped in the new RAM, I mostly saw no errors except during OCCT tests, which resolved themselves after running all 128GB. Since I expect to stay on the Dell longer than expected, I’m also planning a GPU upgrade so I can play games on it. The model I chose is an HP OEM 2060 Super—here are the details:

Before installing the new GPU, I tested it on my 11700K first, ran every benchmark and stress test, even played games for a couple of weeks. No problems at all—performance stayed consistent with the OEM specs. I installed it in the Dell after confirming everything worked fine in the first place.
I used a DDU cable in safe mode initially, needed a 2x6 to 1x8 pin adapter, and checked the wiring to ensure it wasn’t overheating. The cover was left off to monitor for heat or faults. I ran stress tests, Prime95, and OCCT without issues. The system rebooted once after Prime95+Furmark, but logs showed only a normal restart.
Some concerns arose:
- The GPU ran hotter than expected (70–80°C in the 11700K vs. 80–85°C in the Dell).
- My monitor went blank occasionally, possibly due to signal loss.
- The event logs mentioned crashes with nvlddmkm, but these were likely false positives from a test demo.
The biggest worry is the GPU itself—its performance was stable, but temperatures were high. I’m still unsure what’s causing the monitor issue and whether it’s related to cooling or power delivery.
I’m hoping for guidance on troubleshooting without halting my workflow, especially since I need this system to stay operational for weeks. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
