I've experimented with shaders in ray tracing enabled mode in Minecraft. My RTX 2060 usually handles 1080p around 20fps max and 1440p around 14fps max, even with the highest settings. When I run MSI Afterburner, my GPU reaches its limits but the CPU stays around 40%. It's unclear why I'm not seeing smoother performance compared to others—anyone have insights?
Your system runs a 5700 xt CPU, which is quite capable for Minecraft with shaders. You're seeing around 70+ FPS suggests good performance, but let me know if you'd like tips to boost it further!
Handling ray tracing on the RTX 2060 remains challenging, so normal shaders typically deliver lower frame rates compared to ray-traced scenes.
Ray tracing is really not worth it and you should never rely on it. It’s just bad quality, and the fact that they promoted such a weak shader makes it even worse. Running ray tracing smoothly would require something like a 2080ti, but even then it’s still poor. I’d steer clear of complex shaders since MC often struggles with them too.
