Hello, according to the title, your graphics card isn’t functioning in the top slot. Given the design of my open frame case, it only fits properly in the lower slots. The specs are a Ryzen 3 1200 with 4x2GB RAM, 3200MT/s, CL16, MSI 1660 ti OC edition from Asus B350-F for gaming. All components have been verified as working, and the GPU has functioned in other systems. The CPU, motherboard, and RAM are also confirmed operational. I’ve tried forcing Gen 3 PCIe speed in the BIOS, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I’m seeking help since this GPU is essential for me to use the top slot.
Inspect the CPU for bent pins with the newest motherboard BIOS and the most recent AMD chipset drivers.
Have you attempted to reset the CMOS? If you have another card nearby, try placing it in the top slot.
I restored the CMOS and installed the old HD 6450 I found, and it functions properly. Confused about the setup. Planning to test the 1660 Ti again, though I’m confident the card will work. Might consider cleaning the contacts on the card as well. Also worth mentioning that the monitor uses a powered DVI-D to DPI adapter for the 1660 Ti, whereas the 6450 connects directly to a DVI-D.
Ensure the DisplayPort to DVI adapter is passive. Using an active DVI to DP setup can cause issues since the monitor wouldn't supply power to the GPU. You should use a DP to DVI adapter or cable instead. Check if your monitor supports HDMI and verify the latest vBios version for your GPU.
The monitor is an Apple HD Cinema model that only supports DVI-D. I've used passive adapters before, but they didn't deliver the correct resolution. Also, I'm not clear on how to verify or upgrade the GPU's BIOS.
DVI supports up to 1080p resolution. Dual Link DVI can reach 2560x1600. Switching from Active DVI to DP is only recommended when the device needs power over DisplayPort but you're linking it to a device with a DVI output, as DVI doesn't carry power. Is your monitor using dual link DVI? Make sure the adapters you've tested were dual link connections. Regular DP to DVI typically uses single link DVI, while dual link DVI is less common, more expensive, and harder to find.

System 1 runs R7 2700x with an x470 processor, 16GB RAM, and 1080p mini display. System 2 is an i7 8700K with 16GB RAM and a Z390 graphics card, featuring RTX 3080.
