I created a 500 FPS gaming PC Monster in March 2023 using the 7950X3D and 4090 Suprim X in the Hyte Y60. It runs well, but the GPU gets hot near the glass after about an hour of play. The side panel is removed, causing a 10-20 degree drop. I’m trying to fix it without modifying the case myself, as I’m not familiar with DIY options. Any suggestions or ideas for a simple fix?

The issue is quite general. Could you share the temperatures when your card is idle or under load? What fan setup do you have? Generally, this setup offers solid airflow. On the software side, you can lower your GPU voltage or cap FPS in games to help keep things cooler.

What is the highest temperature your GPU can handle? The Suprim X features an advanced cooling system that maintains temperatures comfortably, even with limited airflow.

The bottom compartment accommodates 2x140mm fans. Swapping the standard fans for models like Noctua NF-A14 should resolve the problem. Could you share your existing fan configuration?

It’s unlikely you’re seeking the right solution. The issue you’re facing isn’t clear, but I’ve helped with several computer setups.

I have a pull setup that matches the exact build shown in the video. It appears to be the side panel. In Timespy, I was seeing 74 degrees, then removing the panel gave me 64 average. I understand this isn’t overheating, but even during Fortnite after roughly an hour I reach 80-83 in 1080p at 360Hz, which seems unusual. When the room temperature is around 22.22°C and fans run at full speed, I’m only at about 29 degrees even with the side panel on—so idle temps are normal. I also put ASUS Aromaly on turbo after auto-tuning to avoid running fans at full speed constantly. At 23.89°C (currently) my ambient climbs to 37-47 while idle and browsing, and with the memory junction around 58-60 and a hot spot of 56-58 while browsing. I’m fine with idle temps, but under load it jumps about 10-15 degrees. In Halo Infinite, it starts at a decent 64 after an hour or 30 minutes it hits 78-83, then in the lobby it gets extremely hot—fans kicked on and I heard a click. That’s when I realized the farthest GPU fan actually touched the glass when it ramped up. I can feel the side panel getting warm, though I don’t mind removing it. I’d like a more lasting fix. Also, I want to place the setup in a room with a closed door since I have cats and it can get very hot when setting the ambient to 23.89°C (75°F) or even higher when I raise it to 78°F. I also have an Alienware R14 5900X 3080 and it feels like a space heater when both are running at the same time. I freeze at 22.22°C lol when both are idling. Updated: June 29, 2023 by Keiko-chan

The image clearly shows more than just a few words of trouble. Your GPU is getting damaged by the glass panel again. Switching to a standard mount should fix it. Unless your setup includes intake fans at the bottom (which you probably don’t), you’re missing a critical airflow path. Yes, static pressure will let some air in naturally, but most of it will be quickly pushed out by exhaust on top. With a poorly damaged GPU against glass and no proper intake fans, temperatures will rise significantly.

Choose a standard mounting if you don’t mind the look; regular installation works fine. If intake fans aren’t running at the bottom, install them there. The side panels also accommodate intake fans. The case’s layout can guide airflow, potentially resolving your problem by directing it through the glass.
