I think that is a good idea and the first place to start troubleshooting this exact issue. Even a cheaper model like an MSI A550BN or MSI A650BN is a good budget PSU that is safe to use.

Purchase a basic or entry-level PSU, then upgrade to a worst-case scenario C tier. Replacing with another budget model won't resolve the issue effectively.

Sure, if you've already checked and it's still happening, it's likely the power supply is cutting off the GPU.
