The GPU is behaving oddly.
I recently assembled my first PC and it turned out to be a complete mess. Even though everything seemed fine, the GPU didn’t show up in the BIOS (4070 Ti) and the machine would crash unexpectedly. Since then, its performance has dropped drastically—just a few frames per second. I suspected a power supply issue but replacing it didn’t help. Later, I considered the PCIe slot as a possibility because I noticed some visual glitches, though nothing changed after swapping the motherboard. The GPU failed to report its speed and couldn’t be overclocked. After updating drivers, those problems seemed resolved, but the display remains sluggish and I see occasional white blocks on the screen. I tested it elsewhere and it worked perfectly. I’m struggling because I live in a region with limited access to AMD hardware, especially the 4070 model. Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Have you attempted to reinstall drivers? Occasionally, Windows updates assume their drivers are superior to those directly from Nvidia. Reinstalling the drivers often resolves this issue.
Consider refreshing your BIOS prior to performing a full system reset.
I performed a fresh setup but left my drive unformatted, resulting in a Windows.old directory. All partitions on the C drive have been removed, and I'm reinstalling everything. Updating as I proceed.
It's unusual that your GPU isn't listed in the BIOS, and it might indicate a hardware issue even if it functions elsewhere.
I'm not clear on what you're asking about. It seems there might be some confusion regarding BIOS settings and hardware connections. If your BIOS shows up on your monitor and the connection is correct, your system should recognize it properly. Make sure your GPU is connected directly to the monitor without going through the motherboard.
