Is there something wrong here? The GPU isn't working—no power reaches it and the fans don’t turn on. Inserting RAM fixes this, but removing it stops everything except the display, which stays off. Swapping the slots doesn’t help. Occasionally, the PC won’t start at all when RAM is in. Could be a power or connection issue. Check your PSU and cables.

Maybe the memory module isn't working correctly?

My initial reaction would be that the RAM is faulty. The mainboard starts up properly but halts once it identifies damaged or non-functional RAM. Check the RAM and/or GPU on another system with a suitable motherboard to see if the issue is with the RAM/GPU or the motherboard itself.

Here, POST LEDs on recent motherboards become relevant. It seems hard to confirm this without trying another set of components. Regrettably, you received an f SKU CPU because you can't simply swap out the GPU to simplify testing. It would be wiser to opt for a newer DDR4 platform such as a Ryzen 5600 instead of adding RAM for now.

Hey team, just checked the RAM and found it was damaged from a short circuit. Not sure what caused it, but I had it replaced.
