It wouldn't cause any harm. Also, double-check that your PCIe cable isn't causing the card to bind. I noticed a possible problem while testing the support wire. Proceed with caution. I placed a non-conductive, non-abrasive item beneath the card just enough to prevent it from collapsing, perhaps even tilting it upward. Removed it once the slop was removed from the support cable.
