Hey everyone, I just purchased a new laptop (HP Specter x360 16) and ran a userbenchmark test. It came back in the 6th percentile for CPU, 2nd for GPU, and 0th for RAM. I made sure no background apps were running, set the power limit to maximum in both Windows and HP control center, plugged it in, restarted it, and kept the temperature around mid-60s. I've repeated this three or four times and got nearly identical results each time. What could be going wrong? Here are the benchmark details: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/56750602 cpu: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11390H gpu: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop ram: Hynix H5ANAG6NCJR-XNC 2x8GB ssd: Nvme SK hynix PC801 HFS512GEJ9X101N 512GB display: 3840 x 2400 - 32 Bit colors bios: Insyde F.11, 8/9/2022 windows: 22621.819
It's accurate, yet it's remarkable how effectively they spot problems... it's not flawless, but it does uncover issues that have at least some concerns. Their reviews are quite entertaining, mixing humor with honest opinions—always providing both pros and cons. Lmfao!
Yeah, I understand that the benchmark tool works well for its purpose, but it’s concerning that my machine lags behind others of the same spec. I’ve experienced a few problems, but they’re not major enough to affect my main use—like watching a sports stream where it ran at a low frame rate despite high bitrate, and the GPU tuning option didn’t work. I ran some Cinebench tests and got scores like 1292 single-core, 5082 multi-core, with temperatures around 95°C and 98°C. hwinfo reported throttling in both tests, so I moved it outside to about -10°C. The multicore test came back 5380 with a 4.3 GHz max and slight throttling. Compared to other identical laptops, my results are lower. Should I think it’s due to poor thermal paste, a hardware issue, or just random luck with my components?
