Hello,
I recently purchased an ASUS TUF 5080 and tested it for ROP counts, benchmarks, etc., but I didn't find any issues. Last night while playing Cyberpunk 2077, the GPU started clicking sounds in the main menu. I examined the GPU and case and didn't notice any cables or similar sources causing that noise. It only happens when I'm sitting on the CP77 main menu or using V's inventory. If you have any insights, please let me know. Also, sorry for my poor grammar.
Thanks.

The framerates during menu navigation and inventory checks remain consistent throughout the application.

So I just checked main menu and it was around 450-500 FPS. I enabled fps limit to my displays refresh rate and now there is no click sound. Thank you sir for inspire.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it seems the noise isn't coming from the GPU but rather the power supply unit. It still occurs occasionally during gameplay even when using a FPS cap.

Greetings.
On 16.11.2024, I acquired an FSP Hydro PTM PRO 1650W 80+ Platinium ATX3.1 Gen 5 power supply.
Since purchasing it for my newly assembled case, the device has been emitting an arc jump noise intermittently. Although the noise occurs, the power supply activates and deactivates the sensor light linked to the main line in the attic of the house.
I first observed this issue while playing Cyberpunk 2077 with the inventory open. Later, I noticed similar sounds in other games and within Unity scenes packed with interface elements. However, whenever it produces noise, neither the GPU/CPU utilization nor the voltage readings are elevated. The electrician who visited replaced the relays with higher-current ones, but the problem persisted.
After that, I kept using it under these conditions. Recently, while watching YouTube videos, there was no sound at 720p and 1440p, and the GPU usage remained around 4–5%. At 1080p, the GPU usage spiked to 35–40%, and the previously mentioned noise resumed.
If anyone has any insights or suggestions, please share—I’m getting quite concerned.

Coil whine appears as a clicking, whining, or growling noise. Some power supplies include internal relays, but you shouldn't notice them while operating—only when they activate during standby. At certain loads, the PSU might produce minor sounds. If it remains in fanless mode and the rest of the system is silent, these noises can become noticeable. Mouse movement triggers coil whine on my current desktop and laptop, which behaves similarly. My previous GTX980 SLI configuration often generated intense coil whine, sounding like a motorcycle revving as frame rates fluctuated.

Thank you for your reply. I understand the coil whine usually sounds like a click, but this one feels more like an arc sound. Additionally, I experience coil whine occasionally, but this noise is consistently louder and higher than before.

Disable the ECO setting on the back of the PSU and check if the sound remains.
