The Google Chrome browser has issues.
I attempted to set up the 64-bit beta version of Google Chrome yesterday, but after installation it wouldn’t start, so I removed it. Later I found that Chrome also wouldn’t launch on its own. Now it only opens when I right-click the icon in the taskbar and choose "New Window" or when I locate the .exe file and run it with admin privileges. When chatting with friends via Skype, any links they send don’t open either, so I’m forced to manually copy and paste them into Chrome. I’ve tried various solutions such as reinstalling multiple times and restarting my computer, but the issue persists.
Have you checked if removing and reattaching it resolved the issue?
I haven’t faced any problems with mine and haven’t installed the beta either. When I first got Chrome, it was very slow, but over time it started to lag. It sometimes freezes for a couple of seconds to five seconds when launching. I’d love to understand what’s causing this issue.
Last time I tried, I removed the Chrome folder and used the uninstaller, but it didn’t help.
Success! Thanks for the assistance. I hadn't considered checking %appdata% for Chrome files either.
