I tried to restore it, but I'm concerned it might have canceled my warranty. Model B550 Aorus Pro.

What clip exactly? If you don't tell anyone and there is no evidence it happened, you definitely didn't void a warranty.

It’s the sound you get when the card is properly seated in the slot, confirming it’s locked in place. The black section with the finger is where you make that click.

If it led to the board no longer working they could argue that user mis-use isn't covered. If there's no visible damage and the board stops working for an under reason they have no evidence to refuse an RMA. This is kind of a grey area. It's like having a water damaged phone that you want to have the glass replaced on. The reason for warranty is unrelated to the damage but then it's up to the manufacturer to honor it or not. IMO, if the clip isn't obviously damaged and your PCIe devices still work in the slot I wouldn't worry about it. Gigabyte won't have any evidence to not honor the warranty if the problem is unrelated. Just be more careful next time.

If it failed so quickly, I’d consider it a production issue and list that as one of the reasons for initiating an RMA. When you decide to do so.

Curious about the method used? Were you unsure if it was completely loose or overlooked the presence of a latch?

I shifted the latch aside and it responded, though it didn’t come out completely. Maybe the large GPU was affecting its movement.
