The Gigabyte M27Q X fails to show 240Hz output.
I purchased a M27Q X from Gigabyte a few months ago without a GPU and was using IGPU. The maximum refresh rate was 144Hz, which I ignored since it was an IGPU. Recently, I acquired a GPU (7900X) and in Windows I can set the max refresh to 144Hz, but the OSD still shows 144Hz. I've contacted Gigabyte support, but they take at least four days and keep asking about things I mentioned earlier. I've updated drivers, BIOS, tested HDMI and DP connections, tried various ports on my GPU. I really need help here because Gigabyte support seems unreliable.
You might need to access the monitor menu or settings and turn on the refresh rate overclock to make it function properly. It’s also a good idea to use a compatible DP cable, confirming whether the one included with your monitor supports the desired resolution and speed. If not, consider buying a higher-quality cable that matches those specifications. Some responses suggest enabling overclock only if 240Hz is listed in the settings, indicating that OC might be necessary for full performance.
I checked the settings several times but didn’t see any options for overclocking the refresh rate. The gigabyte OSD file was downloaded but didn’t function well, and I could only adjust the refresh rate to 144hz. I’m also using the DP cable that came with the monitor.
I’m using the built-in cable with the monitor. Freesync is active, but there are no adjustments for refresh rate settings. I update adrenaline weekly, so everything should be current.
Reboot after updating Adrenaline. Navigate to Settings, then System, and select Display. From there, adjust Advanced Display settings to see the current refresh rate. A reboot may unlock additional options, or you might need to modify your resolution.
It doesn't seem to be working. I've already tried it, adrenaline is current, and adjusting the resolution didn't help. It's still running at 144Hz even at 1080p or 720p.
I understand you're using the DP cable, but I'm not sure if the HDMI cable is connected to the GPU or the monitor. The monitor supports DP 1.4, which can handle 240Hz.
The GPU and display support 240Hz via DisplayPort. Consider disabling HDR for better performance.
