The Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L won't recognize the bootable W10 USB no matter what settings you adjust in BIOS. Some YouTube guides suggest methods, but they seem ineffective. It’s possible the drive isn’t compatible or there’s an issue with the USB itself. Consider testing another USB or checking the drive’s health.

I saved the W10 tool (version 22H2) from their website, but it doesn’t connect via USB. I’m using a HyperX FURY USB Flash Drive with 16GB. It’s version 3.0.

Use a USB 2.0 connection; these older boards struggle with 3.0 drives or even brand-new 2.0 ones

you should look for a 2008 USB 2.0 in a different location on the planet. try formatting it as NTFS and using the Windows installer, but be aware it might cause another issue where the drive gets detected but shows a black screen with a persistent "_" at the top left corner.

The installer doesn't recognize NTFS. You might use Rufus to build an installer from an ISO file. If that doesn't work, just burn a DVD.
