Hi, your gaming setup works fine for Fallout 4 on medium settings, but sometimes the frame rate drops noticeably. The performance isn’t extreme, yet it’s becoming a recurring problem. Your current components include an i5-4690 processor, an Asus board, a 2GB Nvidia Palit GTX760 card, 16GB of Kingston Hyper X Fury SSD, and a 120GB HDD. The game runs on the hard drive rather than an SSD, and you have three 1080p displays. Would it be worthwhile to upgrade now? If so, which parts should you prioritize first? Thanks in advance.

I’d consider replacing your graphics card. Could you share your budget so we can find a suitable option within it?

Are you using one screen or the full surround sound setup across all three speakers?

Yes, that sounds reasonable—likely around £250 maximum.

Considering budget, I’d pick the R9 390 for its value. For graphics, the MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB fits well with the price. If you’re an NVIDIA user, go for the GTX 970. Both options include shipping and tax details.

It really depends on what you value most. The card does offer some performance improvements, but they might not be huge.

Upgrading from 2Gb to 4 or 8GB is quite a notable change. Switching from a 760 series to a 970 series also seems reasonable in my view. If you're experiencing problems with the game, it's definitely worth trying. If not, you can hold off for another year. Your decision is ultimately up to you. I believe it could be beneficial.
