Hello, thank you for your support ahead of time.
I own a fairly solid gaming PC, but I’m experiencing several issues:
Occasional stuttering when using Chrome, Email, Skype, especially when navigating tabs or responding.
There are moments of freezing and lag when pressing the Windows key while playing or in menus.
General slowdowns occur when switching between windows, and I notice my game frames fluctuating wildly—sometimes stuck at 120, other times dropping to 20 or 50 for a few seconds.
I also face random frame drops during gameplay, sometimes lasting half a minute, with no clear pattern.
Occasionally, after a full gaming session, the PC feels unusually sluggish.
My audio tends to drop to 40/60% volume regardless of settings, even though other volume controls remain unchanged.
The unusual part is that when I check AMD Adrenalin, my CPU usage stays low (15-40%) while the GPU runs at high levels (60-80%).
I’ve tried everything: fresh Windows 11 install, updated drivers, GPU updates, no overheating, game updated, performance mode selected, no viruses or malware.
My PC uses a new Nvme SSD, and I’ve adjusted many settings in The Finals without resolving the problems.
Sometimes restarting helps for a short time, but the issues can return after a while.
I ran a memtest and found no errors.

My system specs:
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Asus Rog Strix X870-F Gaming
- 64GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM
- RX 7800 XT 16GB
- 2TB NVMe SSD (Steam & OS)
- 750W power supply
- Deepcool liquid cooling system

I’m hoping for some advice to eliminate stutters, freezing, and maintain stable 120 FPS under current settings. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

750W power supply unit advertises its capacity. Please specify the model number of the device. If this product has been used for some time, note its age as well.

Asus Rog Strix X870-F Gaming
BIOS version for your motherboard?
64Gb XPG DDR5 6000MT/s
Do you have a link to this RAM kit?

Did you install the operating system in offline mode and then manually add all necessary drivers during elevated command mode? If not, this could be the source of your issue, as the OS often attempts to download and install drivers it believes are suitable, which can lead to complications.

Hi Lutfij,

Thank you very much for your reply.
The power supply unit is 750W, which matches the advertised capacity. Please specify the model number of the unit and its age if it has been in use for a long time.

Here are the details:
- Gamdias Kratos M1-750B
- [Product link](https://www.gamdias.com/en/component/pow...OS_M1-750B)
(Purchased on 10th September 2020)

For your motherboard BIOS, I’m not sure. Could you confirm?

Regarding the RAM kit:
I have a link to the XPG Lancer RGB AX5U6000C3032G-DCLARBK from Wootware:
https://www.wootware.co.za/adata-ax...AG...wEIfTBG4ON

Also, I noticed you mentioned installing the operating system in offline mode and then manually adding drivers. If this is the case, it might be causing issues because the OS tries to download drivers automatically, which can lead to conflicts.

Could you clarify if this is the problem?
I downloaded my drivers via Asus DriverHub and AMD Adrenalin for the GPU:
https://driverhub.asus.com/en
I’ve attached a screenshot of the driver installations from DriverHub:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GykBymk...sp=sharing

Let me know how to proceed.

Check for any items in Device Manager marked with a yellow exclamation mark. Attempt to use DDU to delete all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD) in Safe Mode, then manually set up the newest GPU driver from AMD's support site using an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

It would make sense to refresh the BIOS since the version you're using is still the original shipping release. Intel has encountered some problems with the i226 ethernet controller on Windows, so updating the driver pack seems advisable. The present version is 29.4; it's unlikely this is the cause, though many of the software interactions mentioned rely on an internet connection.

There might be a problem with the SSD in use. Even if it doesn't always help pinpoint the issue, Task Manager and Resource Manager can display queues and response times for the drive.

A few important points:
- That memory isn't listed on the QVL for the motherboard, though most DRAM with an EXPO profile should function on AMD.
- The PSU is a very poor model; although I don't believe it's the main culprit here, it wouldn't be something I'd recommend using with this setup.

No issues detected in Device Manager, just a quick check. Planning to use DDU, though I’m not sure if this is the problem since I haven’t used any other setup (Nvidia/Intel) with this board and processor before—they’re brand new.

Hi thestryker,
Thank you for your feedback. I plan to apply a BIOS update and an Ethernet controller update. It’s possible the SSD in use might be the cause, even though it doesn’t always help identify the problem. Task Manager and Resource Manager can display queues and response times for the drive.

How should I carry out this test? What indicators should I watch for?
Is there a tool available to assess the drive’s health?

I ran a memtest and found no issues with the RAM; it appears to be operating normally. Any further suggestions or tests would be appreciated?
Regarding the PSU, what might be the underlying issue?

Have you explored other options or could you attempt additional tests/benchmarks?

Having Task Manager enabled to display disk usage while you're using the computer and checking it during these problems can help. If the drive is used frequently, latency will likely increase significantly—my system tops around 10ms, but drive-related issues usually exceed hundreds. There doesn’t seem to be anything else I can suggest besides testing different memory options. You might consider running an OCCT memory test, though it often only detects faulty memory like memtest does. It could also be a weak PSU, but I don’t think that’s the main issue here. If the problems appeared only under heavy load, it might point to something else.

Hi Lutfij,
Hope you're doing okay.
Do you have any updates from your end?
I'm still facing problems and there haven't been any changes.
