Sure, I understand. He won't try to make it better, which is why I'm having trouble figuring it out.

You purchased it somewhere, but it seems you're questioning whether you made a mistake. He might have acknowledged issues before, possibly realizing it wasn't a good deal.

A random Facebook seller mentioned nothing about this problem.

I don't understand why you don't receive the same output when using a synthetic load. Most of the time, hardware performance is lower than a full synthetic load. You might want to check Windows Event Viewer for errors—perhaps a power issue or failure occurred. It's possible the power supply isn't delivering enough power, leading to shutdowns similar to what happened on an older Alienware device.

It looks like there might be a problem with the liquid metal. My laptop came with LM on the CPU, and after about one and a half years, the CPU kept overheating during games. Some cores stayed above 95°C while others were around 82°C. It turned out the LM created an oxidized area over the hot spots. Initially unsure, I took the laptop apart, removed the heat sink, and gently scraped away the oxidation with a q-tip using leftover LM. I repeated the process on both the cooler and the die. The CPU cooled down to mid-80s with even temperatures across all cores. I also cleaned the GPU, which was completely dry, and everything worked fine now. So far, no further maintenance is needed—it's nearing its fifth year, even in a powerful machine, the GPU shouldn't reach 87°C.
