Hello, your new gaming laptop looks great. The specs you mentioned are solid for casual play, but the shutdown after a short game session suggests a potential GPU or cooling issue. Since you ran FurMark and CPU stress tests without problems, it’s likely the GPU is throttling under load. Check the cooling system—dust buildup or poor airflow can cause this. Also, ensure the GPU drivers are up to date and that your power supply can handle the 16GB RAM and high-end components. If the problem persists, consider testing with a different game or updating your BIOS. Let me know if you need more details!
There is a very very very very very good chance that cpu has degraded and is basically dead. As every 13th and 14th gen i9 is expected to do.
Laptop processors aren't impacted by the degreading issue. He likely has an i9-13980HX or similar, which isn't a laptop CPU but rather a desktop one. It probably just gets dust buildup and overheats when the CPU and GPU are used together.
the model number is 13980HX. i cleaned the fans, but there was liquid metal on the cpu and gpu, so i didn’t want to handle that.
Run CPU and GPU simultaneously while monitoring their temperatures
Additionally, I left it for an hour; however, no changes occurred. Temperatures hit 90°C on the CPU and 87°C on the GPU.
