DX12 at 1080P with FXAA keeps 182fps consistently across all tests. Using 2x or 4x SSAA causes a drop in FPS while keeping GPU usage stable. I suspected an issue with SSAA. I reduced the resolution to 4K and the same problem appeared. It looks like adding more GPU load only uses a single thread, offering no improvement. The GPU never reaches full utilization at either 1080P or 4K.

SSAA refers to the same concept as downsampling. It increases internal resolution and applies downsampling for anti-aliasing. Because of this, very few games use it today—it’s extremely wasteful. In reality, it isn’t optimized at all.

One of the most finely tuned games out there, though you might ruin it if you mess with the settings. Still, I rely on it for benchmarks because it stays so steady...

I can operate it two or three times (missed it) without any problems.

It was a mistake to think it was the same game; it's actually Rise. The performance suffers heavily on top-of-the-line systems due to engine issues that are unique compared to other TR releases.

Reducing FPS during that process makes perfect sense because you're then displaying at double or quadruple the usual resolution. Still, when paired with the fact that this setup usually indicates a CPU limitation, it aligns with a typical bottleneck situation. How is your CPU handling things? Which configurations are you using? It would help to see if your results match those from online benchmarks using the same hardware. If your device details match the one listed and you're seeing around 120-130 FPS at 1440p, it suggests a possible constraint beyond just GPU usage.

Consistent FPS means the GPU needs close to 380 watts when performance drops, but it’s only drawing about 200, showing a bottleneck in the GPU. The game doesn’t rely heavily on multi-threading. Its power consumption isn’t visible.
