Over the past week I've struggled to stay in the game for more than fifteen minutes. Even though I initially wanted to play, after just fifteen minutes I lost interest and didn't remember why. At first I thought revisiting the same game after some time would reignite my passion, but that didn't happen. Recently, with new DLCs like Forbidden West and the 8-hour expansion, I tried playing on PS5. It wasn't perfect at launch due to graphics issues, so I played at 30 frames per second. Still, I enjoyed it overall. Now that the game is available on PC with more content, I thought I could revisit it and enjoy the DLC again—but I didn't. I've tried RDR2 before, but it's the same problem; I quickly lose interest. Other games feel less engaging now, despite my past enjoyment. At 29, I realize maybe I'm burning out or that games have become repetitive. I've had experience with older consoles like the X360 and PS3, but now it feels like everything has changed. I'm considering switching platforms, perhaps to Switch, and exploring more ambitious titles instead of just corporate releases. I'm stuck between two options.

I experienced some ADD during high school, but since then I really enjoyed playing games. I could spend an entire week doing them without feeling bored or tired. It wasn’t the typical 15-minute focus, just a more relaxed and sustained engagement. I’m not sure about the details.

It seems like you might be experiencing burnout or dopamine overload, especially if you've been playing games regularly.

You just tried, yet nothing happened, but it's worth noting the same graphics remain visible.

I was taking it seriously too. I felt the same way you're likely experiencing now, with no desire for games and spending most of my time watching YouTube. I had to discover other hobbies and interests, which eventually brought me back to gaming. Now I'm much more selective about the games I play and completely stopped playing multiplayer since it's often the source of the biggest frustration.

Likely just TikTok focus, I have ADHD, and I usually play games when they seem fun.
