Hi, I just bought Mafia 3 and after installing it on Steam, I opened it from my old PC. When I press start, it closes and then returns to my Steam library. I thought it was a new game, but now I’m worried it might not work on an older machine. Recently, I got a new PC and the same issue happened again. I checked some forums online, tried reinstalling the game and fixing the C++ settings, but nothing worked. It’s frustrating because I spent money and would really appreciate help. Thank you!

Open the task manager and close the process if it shows up there.

If it doesn't function properly, you may request a refund (subject to having less than 2 hours in the game and buying within the past two weeks). A possible step is to check the game cache's integrity. In your Steam library, right-click the game, select properties, then go to local files and verify the game files.

Unfortunately I can't return it anymore. I checked again and still didn't find any happiness. I also took a look at the Steam pages, but nothing much came up.

You can examine the windows event viewer. If the game is crashing, it may indicate errors with details available in the Application section.

Let the support know you didn’t play for two hours but attempted to extend the session to two hours. The Steam help isn’t as poor as some believe.
