The game triggers a system shutdown on the machine.
Hey there, I've been facing some problems lately. About a month ago I upgraded my PC and it's been running smoothly until two days ago when it crashed while playing Baldur's Gate 3. It's happened three times already, and I've been playing since launch but the issue started just two days back. After it shuts down, the system won't turn back on for a few minutes, though I've kept an eye on temperatures. The CPU stayed under 90 and the GPU below 82, at least that's what I've observed. During the second and third shutdowns I was saving a game, but the first two were just normal gameplay without combat. I've tried running FurMark and Cinebench, neither caused a crash, and Cyberpunk 2077 didn't fail at full settings. Each crash seemed to happen after hours of play and other tasks were running on the PC, even though after the first one it seemed less frequent. I also limited my framerate to 144 and still had issues, though I haven't adjusted quality settings. My build has an 850W power supply, which isn't ideal for a 40 series GPU, but I already had it installed. If the power draw is the problem, I'm not sure why it keeps shutting down briefly afterward. My graphics drivers are up to date, and since the PC was built fresh, all BIOS and chipset drivers were installed. I'm also using DX11 for Baldur's Gate 3 instead of Vulcan.
I set the frame rate to 144 for smoother performance, but I haven’t adjusted the power limit yet. I’ll check it tomorrow.
I don't believe it's PSU. I've encountered the same issue on a ROG G14 2022, 6900S, 6800HS... It just stops unexpectedly. Occasionally the game doesn't even launch properly—no overheating concerns. If anyone has a fix...
I face the same issue. My system has a 3060 Ti spec, an i5 10400F, 650W power supply, and 32 GB DDR2666 memory. The problem mainly occurs when I talk to an NPC for trading—it drops power and then the PC restarts on its own. I’ve capped my FPS at 144 and used medium settings, but it still happens. Any advice?
