I was enjoying Just Cause 3 last evening and encountered poor FPS performance. The average hovered between 25 and 33 frames per second. Upon investigation, it became clear the game isn't capped at 30 FPS, and Vsync remains disabled. My setup includes a 1440p display with Gsync at 165Hz, but on my older monitor (3440x1440, 100Hz ultra wide), I experienced smooth 100 FPS. Switching to windowed mode reduced it to 10-17 FPS. I adjusted settings to low, lowered resolution to 1080p, and even further to 720p, still maintaining 25-33 FPS. I ensured Vsync was off in the Nvidia control panel. The unusual behavior started after about 45 seconds: the game initially ran at 120 FPS, then gradually dropped to 90 FPS and finally stabilized around 25-33 FPS. The game is updated, my drivers are current, but it seems the performance issues persist despite these changes.

Oops, seems like you're running an older system with a 6700K processor and the right hardware.

It seems odd since I’m working smoothly at 60 FPS with high settings, while your system is much less powerful. You also mentioned not playing at 1440p.

I reduced the display settings to the minimum and set the resolution to 1080p or lower, yet the frame rate remained around 25-33 frames per second. It doesn’t seem logical.
