I just upgraded my computer to a 9800x3d, 32gb DDR5 6000, and an MSI Mag A850 power supply. I have a 360 AIO cooler and no cooling problems or thermal throttling. My issue is that after playing a game for a couple of hours, my FPS drops randomly to around 30-60 and stays there, even when I keep the clock and memory speeds at 100%. I looked into GPU power usage while maintaining those settings and found it might be related to power delivery. I’ve tried reconnecting cables and swapping their order, but the problem continues. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I just upgraded my pc to a 9800x3d, 32gb of ddr5 6000 and and msi mag a850 power supply, I have a 360 aio,
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
You speak of upgrading, did you reinstall the OS after the platform migration? I'm assuming no since you didn't mention dropping in a new NVMe SSD to your platform.

I reinstalled the OS and installed a new M.2 SSD, placed it in the first slot as suggested in my motherboard manual. I also upgraded to an MSI Mag X870 board.

What are the GPU and CPU temperatures when idle and under load? Is the motherboard BIOS fully open to date? If overclocking or under-volting is done, please stop. Full stock configuration. No BIOS adjustments. Performance remains consistent with a standard baseline.

What does the CPU appear to be doing during the problem? At what point does it become stuttery or maintain normal smoothness around 30-60 FPS? Have you attempted reinstalling the graphics drivers with DDU? Did you adjust the PCIe speed configuration for the graphics card within the BIOS settings?

BIOS is current, the CPU runs under 60 c, and the GPU caps at 82 c. I was using full stock clocks for the GPU and PBO 2 on the CPU, but the only solution to fix frame drops was lowering the GPU memory clock by 200 mhz.

Cpu operates without issues, 5.4ghz below 60c, functioning normally due to GPU constraints. It becomes stuttery occasionally, with spikes between 30-60. No changes made to PCIe settings, and drivers were recently updated.

I'll attempt that PCIe configuration and follow up later, I just reinserted my card and verified it was securely locked so the problem shouldn't recur in Kombustor. I'll check again if it appears again.

worked well three days ago on my old PC lol, just a tested part that's still functional.
