I recently purchased a new computer and set up all my games and software. Minecraft is running slower than other titles like CSGO, especially on my rx480 with an Athlon X4 860 CPU. I’m curious if this is due to a CPU bottleneck or if Minecraft isn’t optimized for my hardware.

RAM didn't boost FPS; I checked with 4GB and 16GB. No improvement. Optifine offers little benefit now, since my CPU and GPU can handle over 100FPS alone. What's your CPU load while playing Minecraft? Are you on a busy server with many mobs, players, armor stands, and holograms?
minecraft focuses more on the whole counter strike map being compact, allowing it to be fully preloaded. In contrast, minecraft repeatedly regenerates and redraws map chunks.
ram boosts performance if your memory is limited, like when you're installing mods. it adds around 20 gigs. without enough ram, it doesn't perform as well.
