So, I've seen a bunch of youtubers play C&C remastered, and in many cases its very obvious which of them have never played the original and grew up on far more modern titles, its rather amusing actually. The lack of 'features' ,the simple 'dumb' A.I, the lack of pritty much any hand holding such as 'warnings' etc, all makes for some hugely amusing remarks from these youtubers. I do find myself wanting to play it, I have the original buried away somewhere but playing a remastered version is very tempting. Theres just one very large problem. EA... They will have to do ALOT more than be the publisher of one great remaster to get me to spend money on them. In fact , save doing a complete business wide replacement of management level and up employees, and a total redesign of monetization and general policies, i dont think they will ever be able to gain back my trust and support after decades (plural at this point) of anti consumer , anti developer, money grabbing trash attitude and actions. I'd love to support the developers who made this remaster happen, but theres no direct way of doing that, that said for every 1 person who stands to his/her principals, theres 100,000 more who just dont give a fk and will buy it anyway. So who knows, maybe some day ill 'acquire' it. Till then.. What do u lot think of the remaster ??
Team had strong ties with the community from the beginning, and people wanted a more upgraded port rather than a full remake or complete remaster. At $20 it's quite good. You'll need some nostalgia to make it appealing; otherwise it doesn't stand out. Age of Empires 2 looks much better over time, even with only minor updates in the Definitive Edition. @SolarNova
I didn't really like Generals compared to C&C or RA. From a story or world view I favored the C&C universe and the alternate War setting in RA. Generals feels too realistic and lacks depth—it just seems like it was rushed, missing animations. I wouldn’t mind a new game, maybe C&C 4 (though I don’t know the name), but I think RA 4 could work too. However, EA is the issue; the C&C series needs a different developer or publisher. They can't be trusted.
