Hello, today I tried playing Battlefield 4 and found out I need to reinstall it. When I went into my Origin folder, the game disappeared completely. I’m really confused and hope someone can help me understand what’s happening. I already moved my Program Files from 86 to another drive and restored the old ones, but it didn’t work. It seems like deleting a folder might not have extracted some files, even though the system said it couldn’t. This is frustrating because if you can’t delete a folder, it shouldn’t just remove parts of it. Please let me know if this has anything to do with that.

You can't simply paste programs. It's possible your game folder isn't in the Program Files directory.

You cannot simply reuse the installed files. You need to reinstall BF4 again (I’m not sure bringing it back will solve the issue... You might still try).

Sure, clarify your points. Did you transfer all program files from version 86 to another drive correctly? Were the previous files removed properly? And are all copies of your data safely backed up elsewhere?

The process involved relocating items, which initially succeeded. However, when attempting to delete the older files, it failed, so I removed them from the hard drive and transferred them elsewhere.

It hasn't been like I haven't played the game after installing it; my original folder is still there, though my games folder has vanished.

It seems the process triggered a loading window asking for deletion. After some time, it appeared you couldn't remove the file, stating it was due to something called "origin." Normally, when you delete a file, the system clears everything, but if files are being used by background programs like Origin, they might remain until properly handled.

Yes, it displayed the deletion steps for about five seconds. It mentioned it can't delete files on x86 when they're open in another program, which means it hasn't removed anything from your computer yet. That should be fine unless you notice changes.

the longer the deletion window took, the more files were removed. If you have an SSD, it would be much quicker since the BF4 folder was gone. I think you likely have an SSD, but there should have been more deletions from your Program Files 86. Your computer will still function, but you’ll encounter many errors with installed programs in Program Files x86 because deletions don’t remove files in sequence. I’d suggest reinstalling everything you’ve set up. For future moves, it’s better to reinstall the program from another PC if you want to copy it between devices without re-downloading.

I own an SSD, which was the storage for my x86 program files. Since I've only had this computer since Christmas, I didn't have much to work with, and I don't believe it caused significant issues. I've only encountered a few problems, mainly needing to reinstall some things. Overall, I think everything is fine.
