The game lags and freezes during gameplay (Intel i7-4790k + GeForce GTX 1080 Ti).
I’m experiencing inconsistent frame rate issues during gameplay in Ring of Elysium. There are sudden and unpredictable drops from 90 FPS to 60 FPS within one second, which renders the game unplayable.
My PC specifications are as follows:
CPU: i7-4790k (4.5GHz)
GPU: Zotac 1080ti
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1866MHz
MOBO: MSI SLI Krait Z97
PSU: 750W
Nvidia Settings: Maximum Performance
Windows Power Plan: Maximum Performance.
I’m happy to run any diagnostic tests you require and would greatly appreciate assistance with this problem. Thank you.
Within the steam options, check if shader pre-caching is activated. If not, consider enabling it. DirectX 9 is a problematic environment for modern DX 11/12 graphics cards. However, with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, you should generally achieve better frame rates. As I don't play the game myself, I’m unfamiliar with specific settings. Are you running VSync turned off? Also, what display monitor are you utilizing?
It appears to be activated automatically, to the best of my knowledge. This game (currently, as it remains under development) utilizes DirectX 9 and offers only in-game options for "Graphics Quality" – Low or High – and “Anti-Aliasing” – Low or High. Indeed, those are the sole adjustable settings.
Yes, I have VSync turned off, and I possess an Asus ROG (primary monitor) measuring 27 inches with a refresh rate of approximately 165Hz, alongside a BenQ XL (secondary monitor) at 24 inches and 144Hz.
I’ve experimented with all three display configurations (Adaptive Sync – ULMB and Regular Refresh) and the result is identical. There are no background processes running that might be responsible for these issues. I only have a few essential programs I use regularly: email/Slack/Teamspeak, and those are the only ones. These are applications I’ve consistently utilized for the past decade, despite having an i7 processor and a GTX 1080ti.
