The game keeps breaking.
The game keeps breaking.
Hello there, Since last month's 20th day I keep getting random game crashes and I don't know what causes them. I tried reinstalling drivers more than a few times and I even went back to my old drivers to check if that was the problem but it didn't fix it. This is the error message that keeps showing up in the Event Viewer: Faulting application name is rs2client.exe, version 926.4.0.0, and the time stamp shows 0x63568a2d. The faulting module is atio6axx.dll, version 31.0.12027.7000, with a timestamp of 0x6351b15d. The exception code is 0xc0000005, the offset is 0x00000000009423dd, and the Faulting process ID is 0x2b84. When this happened, the application started at 0x01d8fcf65329e3d9 and it ran from C:\ProgramData\Jagex\launcher\rs2client.exe. The faulty module came from a file found in C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u0384804.inf_amd64_41ca44a6939f5e56\B384763\atio6axx.dll. Report ID is 020fee22-e3f0-4e3a-90ed-f85bdde36936, and the Faulting package-relative application ID shows "running :-". My processor is an Intel® Core i5-9400 CPU @ 2.90GHz with 2904 Mhz, having 6 cores and 6 logical processors. The baseboard product name is H310CM-ITX/ac, and I have a crucial 16gb ddr4 ram. I think the problem might be coming from this atio6axx file, but after trying many different things online to fix it, I'm stuck now. Many thanks John
running :- Processor Intel® Core i5-9400 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2904 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s) BaseBoard Product H310CM-ITX/ac Name Radeon RX 570 Series crucial 16gb ddr4 ram Please list the specs to your build like so: CPU: Motherboard: Ram: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: As you've narrowed down the time frame of when the issue cropped up, can you recall if any driver or component on your OS was updated? Speaking of updates, please mention the age of the PSU, apart from it's make and model then follow up with the BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. I have been having random game crashes Please state what games you've taxed the system with.
The computer has an Intel Core i5 processor running at about 2.9 GHz with two cores and a speed of 2904 MHz. It uses a memory stick labeled as crucial for its size and speed. Storage includes a fast SSD, while RAM is also noted as critical. The graphics card is an AMD Radeon RX 570. Power comes from a PSU that is about two years old but still in good shape. All software drivers are current.
You need a stronger power supply because my old one only gave me just enough for this rig, so I borrowed one from a friend or neighbor who has a reliable unit with at least 550W to use on everything in the system. That might fix things without needing a whole new setup. There are no answers listed here for any of the questions asked after that.
The BIOS is from American Megatrends Inc., version P4.10, dated May 14th, 2019. It used to work fine before, but lately things have been acting weird for about two weeks or so. I don't know why switching to a new power supply would help though.
