I tried to check the newest Minecraft update but it didn’t start. I encountered this error message each time: "Java Virtual Machine Launcher Error: Could not create the Java virtual Machine. Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit." I’m using Java 8 Update 151.

In the launcher preferences, there should be an entry specifying the Java version Minecraft identifies and employs for launching. It’s recommended to configure it to "C:/Program Files/Java/jre1.8.0_144/bin/javaw.exe" to ensure proper functionality.
