I purchased Witcher 1 on Steam a year ago, but each launch still fails with the error about missing system requirements. From what I see in my setup, those claims are false. When I first opened it, I had a GTX 970 and it worked fine. Can anyone help fix this issue?

It’s totally understandable to feel confused. You’d need a specific setup like 6950x RAM, 128GB of memory, and a compatible processor. Just let me know if you want more details!

You could try Extreme Injector 3 along with Dualcore.dll to fix it. If that doesn’t work, search for a Dual Core Fix online for any game and look for videos that show the process—especially for Witcher.

This task was challenging; many of these issues can be addressed using the initial search results on Google.

Update your graphics drivers, remove and reinstall the game, and run the Witcher launcher. Test the game using a different version of Windows that matches its original release.

It was a real letdown. Being a patient gamer, the controls in the first Witcher were incredibly frustrating. I gave up early and didn’t finish the game. If you want a better experience, just check someone else’s summary.

I'm a passionate witcher enthusiast, having explored the novels and played both games. I even watched The Hexer with a friend, which means I think it won't be any worse than what you've seen.

Hope everything goes smoothly. Once it's running, it would be wise to add mods, particularly if others have improved their settings.
