I recently assembled a fairly older system configuration that I think should still handle gaming. The key components include an Intel Core i4-860 processor, AMD Ryzen 5 8600U, an RX 560 graphics card with 4GB of VRAM split into two 8GB modules at 1600MHz, a 128GB SSD, and a 500GB hard drive. Benchmarks like Windows Update and CrystalDiskInfo show everything is functioning properly. However, when playing games, I’m consistently struggling to reach even 30 frames per second, no matter the game or settings—especially in titles like Fortnite or Overwatch. I was hoping for at least double performance on medium settings, but that’s not happening. My thermal readings never drop below 10°C, and the GPU temperature stays well under 70°C. I’ve turned off Windows Game Bar, disabled mode and DVR features, and kept all drivers updated. All diagnostics—SFC, CheckNow, memory tests—indicate no major issues. I’ve tried everything I could think of, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe it’s something related to power delivery, storage speed, or hardware age? Best regards.
