The game is running smoothly at high frame rates but with a delayed connection.
Hey everyone,
I've been experiencing some unusual stuttering for a while now and haven't found a solution. I play several games like GTA, COD WARZONE, and PUBG, and everything is running smoothly without any problems. My only concern is CS GO, which I play the most.
My FPS is great—when fps_max is set to 400, it stays above 380, and when it's at 0, it reaches up to 1000. My ping ranges from 7 to 30, depending on the server. I don’t see any red spikes in my net_graph, and SV is between 1 and 3, indicating a stable connection.
Despite this strong performance, I’m still facing annoying stuttering that happens every 10 to 15 seconds. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X processor, an RTX 2060 OC from GIGABYTE, 16GB RAM at 3000MHz (XMP enabled), and everything is installed on an SSD. My GPU temperatures are maxed out at 70°C, while CPU temps stay under 65°C during gaming—no overheating issues.
All drivers are up to date, including BIOS and chipset updates. I’m reinstalling Windows every 1-2 months, which seems to help me feel better. My power plan is set to high performance, and my PC is optimized for gaming. I’ve checked every benchmark and everything shows great results.
I’m frustrated because playing Warzone at an average of 160 FPS is smooth, but CS GO stutters and feels frustrating. I play on a 144Hz monitor with -1ms latency, and when checking in-game (mat_info), everything seems fine.
I have limited launch options. I mainly use -tickrate 128, -high, and -freq 144, which seems to improve my stuttering. VSync is off, and Gsync causes input lag that I can feel.
I stick with fps_max 400 for the smoothest experience, but reducing it to 240 or 200 or 180 makes me feel like I’m playing on a 60Hz monitor. I use 1024x768 resolution with black bars and my own settings, not the ones downloaded. I’ve reinstalled my system and CS GO multiple times, but I still don’t understand why this happens.
All the steps I’ve taken to fix this issue are part of what I tried, but it’s really hard to explain to anyone else.
Thanks for your help,
😉
I understand a lot but it's clear if I ask for assistance here, I'm unsure how to resolve the issue...
