The game is ending for me.
Hey y'all, I have a problem where I always time out from my games no matter what I try, it disconnects me and I'll have to reconnect back again after 10-15 seconds. I am connected to the internet via ethernet cable and I've had this issue for the past few years, even when I've moved houses and gotten another PC, the issue persisted. I've had people from ISP over so many times and the issue has not been resolved yet. What can I do to resolve the issue? TL;DR I always disconnect from games when I have good internet speed and am connected with ethernet cable. Changed houses and PC and I still have the issue. I've contacted ISP so many times and they always say "it should work now". pls help My download speeds are: 632.60 Mbps Down 161.60 Mbps Up Here's my setup: MOBO: b450 tomahawk max GPU: RX 5600 XT CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 RAM: Ballistix 16GB
Make and model router? Check the router's logs if they show up and are turned on. Who has full admin rights to the router? You'll need help from that person too. On your PC, look in both Reliability History and Event Viewer. Either one or both of these tools might be showing error codes, warnings, or just info right before or when the disconnects happen. One quick thing you can try: turn off IPv6 on your computer. This has helped other people fix similar problems.
Hey @Ralston18 , your D-Link router (Model DIR-853) seems to be okay with no other people using it. I checked the reliability history and nothing looks wrong about it. But honestly, I don't know how to read Event Viewer properly. Sadly, IPv6 has already turned off. I'm not sure what else I can do or if there are settings I should change in this router. Any help would be great, too. Thanks
Try logging into your router by opening a browser and typing in its assigned network IP address. You'll need a username and password for this. If you don't have these credentials, it means you aren't an admin on the device. On your computer, open Command Prompt and run "ipconfig /all". Then paste all the results here so I can help you copy them easily without typing everything again.
I just took out any secret stuff, but here is what my computer shows up as:
The computer name is DESKTOP-08N6HO3 and the main domain name is Node Type.
Hybrid IP Routing is turned on. There is no WINS Proxy running either.
There are no other network adapters like Local Area Connection or TAP-Windows Adapter V9, so they don't have their own DNS settings.
On the Local Area Connection 1, the connection to the internet is now disconnected because I unplugged it.
The DHCP server gave me an IP address that was obtained on Friday at 3:11 PM and expires this Saturday at 3:11 PM.
I also got a lease for that same time frame.
My default gateway points to a specific computer named "DHCP Server".
For DNS, I am using NetBIOS over Tcpip.
Here is the full picture: The first adapter, ExpressVPN TUN Driver, has no media connected because it isn't plugged in.
The second adapter, Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller, says DHCP is enabled and autoconfiguration is turned on.
That one got an IPv4 address from a lease that started at 3:11 PM last Friday.
