I’m just checking if anyone who has played Alan Wake 2 on PC has noticed any occasional stutters. They’re not common and don’t affect gameplay much—they mostly happen in certain scenes, and when I replay a dying scene it stutters at the same spot repeatedly. I think it might be a technical issue with the game rather than my hardware, which I’ve tested thoroughly and found no problems. I used 4K settings, maxed out path tracing, FrameGeneration, and DLSS at Quality. The performance isn’t too bad or causing any issues; it seems like the game just pauses briefly before continuing, as if loading something. It doesn’t cause thermal throttling on either the GPU or CPU, since both stay under 60% and 65%.
Need the details? I've run through it twice without any major lag. All features like Max settings and pathtracing are working fine, but at 1440p I still face some crashes and stutters. Those problems were linked to 13th and 14th generation CPUs, causing widespread issues where many users had to lower their processor speeds for smooth performance. If you're using a 13th or 14th Gen Intel chip, that could be a concern.
RTX 4090 7950X3D 32GB ram 5600mhz c36 maybe you didnt notice them? i mean again they dont happen often at all so you can forget about them. maybe im wrong tbh but like i know for a fact it isnt a GPU issue cuz i rma'd the first 4090 and this a whole new 4090. All stress tests on memory and cpu run just fine so i dont know honestly why they couldve happened also they would like happen at the same place at the same time. like one time Alan would be trying to open the door of a train and everytime i die and go through that animation again there is like a slight stutter
We're discussing very minor issues. It's not a full hitch or ongoing problem—it's similar to occasional stutters, like a brief pause or a short freeze during loading. Have you tried tweaking the settings? It might just be a temporary loading hiccup that only appears when switching scenes, almost too subtle to catch.
That's exactly what I was thinking. The brief pause isn't a problem at all. It seems to occur during specific animations and scene loads. I suspect it's common in many modern games, making it hard to ignore. While it might feel like an issue with hardware, it usually points more toward the game itself rather than your system.
I've been playing at a high level for years, facing minor quirks even on powerful systems. The game is new, with more DLC updates planned soon. I'd suggest lowering some settings to ease stutters or improve performance, though visual differences are usually negligible. Like any title, certain graphical options don't need maxing out to enjoy the best experience. Some issues, like loading delays when entering a new area, seem like bugs and should be fixed in future patches.
