Hi! I’m a player of Ghost Exorcism Inc (Ghost Hunters Corp) and my computer suddenly stops working. It takes anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour, but I can’t pinpoint the exact issue. This hasn’t happened before, though it started after updating my graphics driver to version 22.3.1 for AMD. After that, I removed the driver using DDU and reinstalled it, but the problem persisted. I’ve tried closing background programs and lowering graphics settings, but nothing helped. My monitor is 1440p at 144Hz, which puts the GPU around 80-100% usage. Even at 1080p it crashes with similar GPU load. The CPU only reaches about 20-30%. It seems to happen only in this game, not when I play Battlefield 1 or 5 without issues. Could it be related to the game itself or my hardware?

It seems to shut down or restart without any notification. A fresh power supply unit might be required.

PSU brand and model details are needed. GPU information is also required for the answer.

Could the power supply unit be the issue? It seems quite outdated, having been with me since 2014.

If the issue is game-specific, it's likely related to drivers. When installing drivers, they create files on the system and replace older versions automatically. Reverting to an older driver might help, but it doesn't always succeed because by default, the system won't overwrite newer files unless explicitly instructed. You may encounter prompts asking whether you want to overwrite a newer file with an older one, but this isn't consistent across every driver installation or situation. I experienced this before and think the problem could stem from changes in the OS registry. Correcting it usually requires reinstalling the operating system, which seems necessary. Always back up the registry before updating drivers to avoid further complications.
