Hello, your friend is trying to enjoy the game Divinity on Ubuntu. I’m not very familiar with that operating system. The minimum requirements listed by the game are OpenGL4. The system she’s using shows an OpenGL version of 3.0 Mesa 18.0.0-rc4. She thinks 18.0.0 is the latest, but it was only about 1.5 months ago. She doesn’t have a dedicated graphics card—just an Intel Haswell CPU. I checked and it seems her CPU can technically support OpenGL 4.3. While gaming performance might be limited, at least the game should run without problems. It likely points to a driver or software update issue, possibly due to outdated software. Any advice would be appreciated!

I think it's mainly due to poor drivers, though I've looked into the Ubuntu forms already.

Ubuntu's OpenGL support relies on Mesa drivers. Verify they're installed and current. I haven't used them directly; I rely on the proprietary Nvidia versions instead.

Ubuntu might not have the newest Mesa release yet; consider installing a custom PPA.

Mesa 17 must support OpenGL 4.5 on Haswell. Likely a VESA driver or alternative fallback is being employed rather than the Intel driver, though this seems unusual.

I'll test it on my Ubuntu system to find out.
